The African Muzik Magazine Awards AFRIMMA, unveiled the nominees list for the 3rd edition of the biggest African music awards in Diaspora. Springing from the outstanding success of the 1st and 2nd editions respectively, anticipation and expectations have hit the ceilings for this year’s edition set to hold in Dallas on October 15th, 2016.
Mr Eazi is very likely going to win some AFRIMM's this year. That's a good thing, because Eazi's "Skin Tight" featuring Afro Goddess Efya, deserves every piece of praise it earned last year. It's a rich, challenging work that fuse afro pop and soul to Eazi's dense, knotty and lovely conscious rhymes. Any wins for Mr Eazi and Skin Tight are net gains for music. However, would also be a win for Wizkid, founding member of Starboy records. Wizkid's contributions to African music cannot be overstated. And for that matter, his contributions to Afro pop specifically cannot be overstated.
