According to the organizers of the prestigious event, Merqury Republic, since the call for submission of entries opened on January 7, 2016 till closure on January 25, they have received an incredible 6,021 entries of entries from DJs all over the world spanning the various categories.
The journey to the 2016 Ghana DJ Awards nominations have begun with 6,021 entries including Mixtapes and Video Mixes received from DJs and the public for consideration for this year’s awards.
The Ghana DJ Awards is the biggest event on the African entertainment calendar which aims at, among other things, recognize and celebrate the hard work and dedication of Disc Jockeys who promote Ghanaian music.
The 3rd edition, held February last year, saw top Disc Jockeys including DJ Vyrusky, DJ Mac Tontoh, DJ Collins, DJ Neptune and Young Joe win various awards with the most coveted award, Best DJ Of the Year going to DJ Black.
Predictions for this year’s awards have already began on the streets amidst the exciting Move to the Beat Pub Tour which was designed to give DJs exposure.
Nominees for the 2016 Ghana DJ Awards will be announced in February.
